The community of Jordan, Ontario, rests on the eastern edge of the Town of Lincoln, west of St. Catharines and north of Pelham. Jordan sits along a major railroad transportation corridor between Canada and the United States.
Settled in the late 1700s, Jordan is adjacent to a large natural harbour at the mouth of Twenty Creek. For this it became a busy shipping centre for the export of such goods as logs, hides, grain and fruit, while also maintaining a small shipbuilding industry for a time. Today, Jordan is home to many wineries and one of Canada’s premier ice wine-producing destinations. The Twenty Valley Winter Winefest is a popular annual event. Ball’s Falls Conservation Area in Jordan boasts the Niagara Region’s second-tallest waterfall.
