The town of Lincoln sits on the edge of Lake Ontario in Canada’s Niagara Region, just west of St. Catharines. Covering a land area of almost 163 square kilometers, Lincoln is home to a population of nearly 24,000 people.
The Lincoln area is known throughout Canada for its orchards, vineyards and wineries. Cherries, peaches and pears are a few of the crops grown in Lincoln, while the town is considered the heart of Ontario’s wine country and contributes greatly to the wine industry across the Niagara Peninsula. The Town of Lincoln was formed in 1970, comprising the communities of Beamsville, Campden, Jordan and Rockway, among a few others. It’s home to many Dutch families and United Empire Loyalists, as well as the inventor of the hockey net.
