Hi, I’m Stu Boyd, owner of Boyd Automotive & Tire. My parents tell me I’ve been in the business since I was about 3 years old, always trying to fix things (although mostly just taking things apart in the early years). Once out of high school, I managed to secure an apprenticeship at a Ford dealership. I stayed there over 17 years and worked my way up to become their lead diagnostic technician.
I am happily married to Terri (Theresa) for over 20 years and have 3 wonderful kids: Megan, Josh, and Rachel. My family is my main hobby and we are actively involved in our church. I do enjoy working with anything mechanical, as well as riding dirt bikes with family and friends. Family camping trips are the way we spend most of our summer vacation time.
Theresa (Terri) Boyd
I’m Terri Boyd and co-owner of Boyd Automotive & Tire with Stu, who I have been married to for over 20 years. My background is in nutrition and food service management. I worked at the St. Catharines General Hospital until our children came along. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with our children and now that they are older, I do the bookkeeping for the business and keep Stu in line. I love to bake, camp, and go geo-caching!
In 2002 we succumbed to the desire to operate our own repair facility and in October of that same year, Boyd Automotive was born. Here we are, many years later, and now Boyd Automotive & Tire is a well–respected repair facility in the Niagara region.
I’m Alan McIlroy. I started here at Boyd Automotive in 2007, first as a co-op student and then was hired as an apprentice technician. I completed my apprenticeship and became a licensed Interprovincial Automotive Service Technician. In November 2012, I made the move to Service Coordinator and now currently hold the position of Automtoive Technician.
I was raised just outside of a small town called Normandale along the northern shore of Lake Erie. I’m happily married to my wife Cheryl. We purchased our first house in 2012 and have enjoyed making it our home.
My wife and I are involved with our church and really enjoy helping lead the youth program. I enjoy the great outdoors, as well as various forms of technology, particularly computers. I have always had an interest in art, but one of Cheryl and my favorite things to do is entertain friends and family around the dinner table.

I’ve been a mechanic since 2001, although if you asked my family they’d tell you I’ve been taking things apart since I could hold a wrench. I’ve enjoyed working here at Boyd Automotive since June 2016. One of the first things I learned here is, Boyd Automotive makes the customer, and repairing their vehicles right, a priority. Everyone here is great to work with and it’s a hugely positive atmosphere both in the shop and office.
When I’m not working, I’m often involved at my church with my wife Beth and my two children, Evangeline and Judah. Or just spending some quality time at home with them. When our busy schedule permits, I enjoy playing paintball and occasionally working on random woodworking projects in my garage.
I was born and raised in Pelham, ON., I attended E.L. Crossley Secondary School and graduated with honours in 2008. After high school I went on to Niagara College where I took the Automotive Service Technician course for 2 years and graduated in 2010 with scholar (Red Seal-interprovincial).
If I’m not working under a vehicle you’ll find me fishing or raising race horses and working on our family farm in Fenwick!
I have been working at Boyd Automotive since May 2015- my specialty is not being afraid of a challenging job and I will dive into any repair.
ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER
Hello, I am Sandra Wiley, Assistant Service manager here at Boyd Automotive. I bring to the table many years of customer service experience in the automotive industry. What brought me to Boyd Automotive is the warm and family based environment here. And I want you to feel like an old friend when you come in for service.
I grew up in Jordan Ontario. Following graduation from Brock University, I have spent my adult life living in St. Catharines. I love living in Niagara and enjoy the six degrees of separation always running into “someone you know” in the area. I have a passion for gardening and vacationing south in the winter. I have been nicknamed the “crazy cat lady” as I have three rescued cats as pets. I enjoy relaxing in my backyard and watching retro 80’s movies.

I consider myself a “Jack of all trades and a master of none,” but not for long; my goal is to become a Master Technician.
I was born and raised in St. Catharines. I graduated high school, then worked full time for RONA until 2010 when I got into the automotive trade. I’ve been a student at Niagara College pursuing my apprenticeship since then and started the hands-on potion of my apprenticeship at Boyd Automotive & Tire April 2011.
My hobbies are gaming (PCs and systems), playing guitar, upgrading my computer constantly (building rigs), modifying my own vehicle, and taking my dog for hikes.
My name is Rob Thomson and I have been an Automotive Technician for over 20 years.
I’m married to my wife Lynda and have two children, Cameron and Makenna. Both are very active in sports and we keep busy year-round with baseball, hockey, and Ringette. In the winter we build a large outdoor ice rink and spend a lot of time out there with family and friends. In the summer you’ll often find us out dirt biking and camping.
Hello, I am Nancy Chiaramonte and I have been with Boyd Automotive for 3 years. I have many years experience in the service industry, and it is what I love to do. Working at Boyd Automotive has been a very enjoyable and satisfying experience to add to my resume of a variety of automotive makes and models of vehicles that I have had the pleasure to deal with as an advisor.
I grew up in a small town called Wellandport , but have spent my adult life living in Niagara Falls with my husband Joe. If I am not at work, I am spending time with my daughter, Tara and a grandson Chase. He is very active in soccer, both summer and winter, and he is the center of our world.
My name is Seho Hong. I’m an apprentice here at Boyd Automotive and tire, I started in the spring of 2016 after graduating the Motive Power Technician Program at Niagara College. I did work here for a short time in 2015 for my co-op experience.
I am from South Korea and recently moved here with my family for the opportunity of giving my children a childhood in a beautiful country free from extreme academic competition. My country is a very competitive and a stressful society to children.
This shop is perfect for me to work and learn, all the staff here are great. However, the thing that made me choose this shop is, all people here are very honest and hard workers. So now I’ve started my new career in a different field job from what I was used to, as an automotive mechanic. To be honest, it is not easy for me to do a physical job at the moment. But I like this job and I am satisfied with the feeling that I am helping others with their vehicles. As a customer, I think, it is good luck for you to find a trustworthy shop. As a technician, it is the best luck to work for the customer’s favorite shop. I am a lucky guy in either aspect.
Bruno has been here since opening day and even before that – helping us get our shop cleaned up and painted and ready for BOYD AUTOMOTIVE to open its doors in October 2002! For 14 years now he is here long before most of us are out of bed every morning – 6 days a week -cleaning up our shop and customer waiting area plus much more getting us ready to go for another day!
We are so thankful to have him for a friend and for his incredible generosity with his time and energy and his wonderful sense of humour!
Thank you, Bruno!!
